A few weeks ago, I got a call from a longtime friend and mentor, the man who single-handedly steered my boat toward Oregon in 2000.  He offered me a job at his winery (still one of the best in the state,) and it was with his encouragement 5 years later that I launched my own wine business. I'll always be grateful to Harry Peterson-Nedry for sharing his wisdom, charm, and hilarious outlook on life with me.

When he called to check in with me, we got to chatting about the signature project he began with his daughter, Wynne. RR Wines, a micro-production labor of love between father and daughter, was 15 vintages in. He asked if Elizabeth and I would like to sample a vertical of 13 vintages, a "retroperspective" of vintage and valley, as it were. You know me. The first thing that came to mind was:

"Let's taste 'em with customers, too!"

And that's what we're gonna do. Hopefully, with you included.... (short notice, I know. But, hey sometimes impetuousness just feels right...)

Harry and Wynne have 13 finished wines in the bottle, and we're going to sit down and taste them all--a "retro-perspective" from 2003-2015.  The purpose of the RR project all along is to show the potential age-worthiness of Oregon Pinot Noir. He's squirreled away tiny quantities of every single vintage, all of which will be available for purchase at the tasting.

Fifteen years in the making. One tasting. Thirteen vintages (2003-2015) that essentially encapsulate the history of the valley to date. Led by one of Oregon's pioneer winemakers. You're not going to want to miss this one.

Please Join me, Elizabeth, Harry and Wynne Peterson-Nedry on:
Sunday June 11, 2017
Park Kitchen (422 NW 8th Avenue, just around the corner from our store)

I'm planning this as an intimate get together. I envision us all tasting, talking, and tasting some more--the first group ever to try all these wines together in one place at the same time.

To RSVP please simply reply to this email and then I'll get back to you quickly with a confirmation and a reserved seat at the table. Space is limited. First come, first served.

If you want to make a reservation for dinner at Park Kitchen afterwards, please click through...

I hope to see you for this great tasting!
