Hello CorksCru,

Nice to meet you!

Dan sent an email last week introducing me as the new face here at the shop, but I felt it proper and friendly to personally introduce myself and tell you about plans we have that hopefully will involve each and every one of you.

The wine road calls Dan pretty frequently so we have to occupy ourselves while he is exploring new territories, and digging up new wines, huh? When the cat's away... and all that. The plan that most excites me is a new direction of weekly tastings--TWO ways.

We are thinking Friday tastings as usual- 4-6pm'ish, focused and directed on some kind of theme or style.Why not wait out the rush hour traffic while tasting some stuff with me and then loading your wine rack at home with some delicious wines?

Let's kick that off tomorrow, shall we? Here's a Tour of the Languedoc lineup I've put together, featuring 3 pretty great women winemakers, for Friday February 10th starting at 4:00:

Mas Seren Etamin Blanc 2014

a rich, unctuous blend of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc from the Cevennes

$19

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roquemale Meli-Melo 2015
pure Alicante Bouschet grown on the site of an old Bauxite mine
$14
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Clos de Nines Le Mour 2013

made from Mourvedre, powerful and dark

$18

Our tastings are always FREE. Come one, come all.

Secondly, beginning later this month I'm going to start offering private evening tasting for small groups of 8 (around our handsome new table). They'll run about 90 minutes and we'll spend that time tasting 6-7 wines, talking turkey about wine, and hoping you'll walk away with some new appreciation for wine--or, at worst, having had some fun!

Have an idea for a group of your own? Need some wine recs for a dinner coming up? Reply to this email to say "HI" or drop me a line. (503) 226-9463 Let's chat!

Looking forward to meeting you all very soon.

Cheers!

Amalie
